A Different Kind Of Perfect-Chapters Two Revised
Trigger Warnings, Child Abuse
This story has always been close to my heart, and to celebrate reaching 20K on the facebook Fanpage dedicate to it, I decided to begin revisions, so I can update and republish this novel!
Chapter Two:
Even though it was nearly 100 degrees that day, I wore long sleeves and designer jeans to my first day of Junior High. The only thing that mattered was hiding the bruises. For gym, I threw on sweat pants quickly, everyone staring at me as if I were strange, if only they knew.
Lorraina, whose father got promoted, was also new to the school. Like me, she was alone and new, but she was much friendlier and freer. Her shorts and t-shirts didn’t conceal bruises, and she carried a picture of her mother and father in her red wallet.
As we were getting dressed, I heard her gasp, and quickly threw on my clothes, but it was too late.
“Who did this to you?” She asked.
“I fell.”
“No, you didn’t.” Her tone was defiant.
“Who are you to call me a liar?” I asked. My voice reflected my anger.
Thankfully, Lorraina didn’t let it go. When she was thirteen, she was willing to risk everything for my safety.
A thirteen-year-old child refused to see another child victimized, so she fought for me, and her parents fought for me, and after two years of fighting, I was given a loving family, and a second chance to be a good sister.
