Life Lessons Learned from a Friend
Our friendship formed in the years before Facebook, or MySpace we talked on MSN chat-boards and in a disability chat room at the time, at that time I was starting to deal with the beginning of a condition that remained dormant for years, a condition at the time that just didn’t make sense to me, in the months before my Aunts death, before we lost her unexpectedly one day to a heart attack in her sleep, told us of her sons dealing with the same things, there’s progressed far faster than mine, and in 2018 would take the lives of one of the boys, but I believe it was so much more than just the disease that stole him from us.
Our friendship was born in shadows, the shadows, and in light, in the months that followed 9'll we were all searching for a deeper grasp on humanity and honestly we were looking for friends. She’d Lost her leg to disease, but she had found something else too, the courage to leave an abusive husband, to make sure she and her child were free, she was one of the ones who found the courage to escape and I always felt she was incredibly brave, and she was too.
But I saw something else too a vulnerability, a sorrow I could read in her time, I think
