A Friendship Even Death Could Not Break
A Friendship Even Death Could Not Break
Snow filled
The sky that
Day
White snow
Dotting the landscape
Turning
The world white
Appropriate
For that was
The day I
Had learned
You died.
Best friends
No sisters really
Blood doesn’t
Define family
Sometimes it’s those
People God
Puts in our lives
The ones you look
At
And say
“Oh you,
Me too.”
And the stories
Flow out
Like water
From a
Water spout.
I knew
On that Chilly
Snowy
February day
Before the words were
Even said
That you were
Gone.
Deep down
I knew each day
Was a gift
