  • I wrote this one nearly twenty years ago..I know it needs a lot of work, but im sharing these to show how I’ve grown as a writer…

A Place to Call Home

A beautiful sunset, ended a day that could only be deemed as unforgettable. The scent of lilacs filled the yard, the place she now called home. Heather played in the yard, smiling, forgetting, for a short time what her life had been like before she came out to this place that she now called home.

“ Krista we love you. “ The words of her new Mother echoed in her heart, words she had never heard from her real parents the one’s who beat her and left her with those horrific scars.

She felt the soft soil with her hands, letting her hands get dirty, a little afraid that the dirt would cause a beating, the way it did with her real parents the one’s who were suppose to love her and treat her as if they cared, but they never treated her like that. Krista was only giving beatings and hurtful words by her parents.

“ Krista you are nothing but a little brat, I wish you had never been born. “ The words of her Father echoed in her ears. Then the beating by her Mother. She was only six when the beatings we at there worse, and finally the school saw the signs and took her away.

“ We never wanted you anyway, you little b****” Were her Mother’s last words to her…
