I could hear my Mothers strong, yet gentle voice, talking to me as I woke up, which must have been why I remembered dreams of singing.

“I gave you the name Aria because you are my beautiful song, my gift from God.”

Listening to my Mom speak caused my eyes to flutter open, finding comfort in knowing she was there for me, knowing I wasn’t alone.

“You’re awake.” Mother said with relief in her voice. Her eyes showed she was scared, she didn’t have to say anything.

I scanned the room, trying to find the energy to speak. When I panicked, she gently grabbed my arm and said to calm down. But I wasn’t okay at that moment. Dazed and confused, I wanted answers but couldn’t ask the questions.

Aria, it’s okay, Daddy and Alyssa will be here soon. “They came earlier, but you weren’t awake.”

I didn’t respond, I couldn’t. The only thing I could do was let my eyes do the talking. It didn’t take words for my mom to know I was scared.

“Aria, it’s going to be okay.” My mom reassured me.

I found the strength to give her a weak smile knowing she was there helped. If she hadn’t been there, I would have freaked out more.
