As We Fight A Beast

As we fight

A battle

Inside our homes

A battle both silent

And loud

Hidden inside

The comfort of our homes.

They fight the beast

With no place

To call their own.

As we connect through iPads
And Mobile phones

They fight to

Get a grasp on

Something they have

Nowhere to hide from.

As we argue politics

And conspiracy theories

They are fighting

For life and dignity

With thread bare clothes

And not enough to eat.

As we binge watch

Favorite t.v shows

They battle demons

From within.
