Broken Beginnings: Chapter Four

Chapter Four:

“I think you are strong enough to go see Nadia now.” Mother said, after talking with the doctors, seeing if it would be okay for me to go visit my best friend who was really more like a sister down the hall.

I knew that a few days ago, Nadia had regained consciousness, but I had not yet been able to see her. My last vision of her, was a blood, dripping from her damaged forehead.

I wheeled myself down the hall, slowly, stopping when I grew tired, and letting my Mother push me instead. Someday I would have to build the strength to go where I needed to go, entirely under my own power.

Sasha sat in one of the ugly orange chairs, in the room, looking even more worn then Mom. I knew that not only was she dealing with Nadia’s injury, but her divorce. We had always believed she and Sergei would be together forever, but soon it was obvious the fantasy everything had was just that, and honestly I thought they were better off without him. He like my own Father had not even come to visit her,

I looked around the room, feeling strangely uncomfortable.

“Hi Nadia.” I said so softly it was almost a whisper, wheeling myself to the bed, not knowing if she even knew I was there, but I would soon get my answer.
