Broken Beginnings: Chapter Sixteen

Chapter Sixteen:

“If you are both up to it, I’d like to go for a walk, get out of the house and do something, it feels like a nice day.”

“I’d like that.” I said. I was grateful for the fact that Nadia didn’t feel the need to title around me. “What about you Sage?”

Sage nodded in agreement but said nothing. Something was bothering her, that much was obvious. I wheeled myself next to Sage, making sure that she was okay.

“If you don’t want to go for a walk.” I said. We can do something else.”

“No I want to go, and I appreciate being asked, this is the first time anyone had asked me to do something like this since the accident. I know Nadia didn’t mean that you and I were literally going to walk, but it got me to thinking. I guess I am just being silly.”

“Sage we are still learning what this means, and if it’s to much we understand completely.”

“No, I want to get back to living my life. I want to be able to take the time to enjoy the little things, I’m starting to understand the importance of that now.”

I nodded grateful that we were getting through too Sage. I wanted her to see that she was worth it. I wanted her to understand that she was worth fighting for, and I was starting to see that slowly she was coming to that realization.
