Broken Beginnings: Chapter Thirty One (Revised)

Chapter Thirty One:



Monday November.26.2018





I had a few days off from physical therapy due to Thanksgiving, which was nice this year, despite being different. We spent it in the hospital with Naomi, and Katarina, but there was good news too, it looks like she will be allowed to go home and begin her healing there, and that is exciting and scary too, I know that.





I struggled through P.T today, in a way I hadn’t in awhile and honestly I found it frightening as well as irritating. But I knew that I could not give up, giving up was not an option. I needed to fight to gain my strength back, to get back to where I was before. I knew that giving up was not an option, because I wanted to get better, get stronger. I may not be able to walk, but that did not mean I could not fight to be strong and healthy.





After Physical Therapy, I went to check on Nadia , but we did not stay long. I was exhausted, and Nadia was going to have to go to her own therapy sessions just a short time later, so Mom took me home so I could rest, the problem was as much as my body needed the rest, my mind was wide awake, so I took the time to look at Bobe’s journals, tracing over the words Bobe had so carefully written long ago, through her words I was getting to know Naomi, and Bobe’s Ima, my Great Grandmother, Lydia, I could almost see the pain and fear she was describing, the terror in the eyes of those suffering at the hands of the…
