Broken Beginnings: Chapter Twenty Six (Rewrites)

Chapter Twenty Six::

I let out a sigh. This is really happening I thought to myself. It was time I headed back to college, I needed to start rebuilding my life. I could not let my life be solely defined by what had happened to me, what that man had done not only to me but to Nadia as well.

“You don’t have to go back if you’re not ready Nadia?” Mom reminded me.

“I know, but I am ready.” I said sounding more certain than I felt. But I was not going to let Mother see how afraid I was, because I knew that would only make her feel bad, and I was certain that I was meant to go back to classes. The classes that I prayed someday would help me tell Bobbe’s story, because more than anything I felt that was what G-d was calling me to do.

“If you’re sure.” Mom said, resting a hand on my shoulder. “Naomi I hope you know that I am proud of you.”

“Mom you always tell me your proud of me, and I am always thankful.” I said smiling!

“I’m glad that I am able to tell you how proud of you I am. I almost lost you, which terrified me. But you showed how strong you are, and I am grateful for that.”

“I am grateful for that.” I said. “Grateful that I survived.”

“G-d is good, he truly is.” Mom said, smiling at me, as I gathered up the books…
