Broken Beginnings: Chapter Twenty Three:

Chapter Twenty Three:

I sat there, phone in my hand, soaking in the words. “They caught him.”

Tears began falling, but not tears of sorrow, tears of joy and relief. Tiffany looked at me concerned.

“Naomi are you okay?” She asked concerned etched in her voice.

I nodded assuring her that I was okay, but I was still to stunned to speak, the moment I had been praying for was finally here, a dangerous man had been taken off the streets, sadly he had taken not the one life we had originally believed but several by playing his sick game.

Thank you Lord!

“What’s going on?” Tiffany asked looking puzzled.

“I’m sorry.” I said finally, making sure I was facing Tiffany to make sure she understood me. “They caught him.” I said finally. “The man responsible for doing this to me. He’s off the streets.” I said, crying once again. Mom and Tiffany knelt down on each side of me, as I sobbed, months of fear, hurt and anger being lifted.

“That’s great news.” Tiffany said, her voice too was raw with emotion.

“He can’t do this, or worse to anyone else, not while he’s locked up.” I said. “I’m going to testify, I want to make sure he stays behind bars.”
