Broken Beginnings Prologue-Chapter One (Revised)
Prologue:
There were the stories that Bobe had told me and the one’s she hadn’t. I knew of the Holocaust of course, the horror she had lived through, but not fully never fully.
When I was twelve I thought I knew more of my heritage then what I really did, it was then that I truly started to get to know what Bobe had endured in the Holocaust, but some of the horrors I would not learn for almost seven years, long after Bobe was gone.
“Babula you come from a strong people, a proud people. We have endured a lot, but G-d is forever faithful, as is his Son.”
I smiled, we were not Orthodox Jews, but Messianic, meaning that we believed in Yeshua, the Son of God. Bobe was strong in her faith, often talking about how it had helped her.
“Yeshua came to me late one night, in a cold barracks in Auschwitz, I wanted to give up, but I refused too, I was not going to let Hitler when, but it was getting hard, I was hungry, my parents were gone, my family was gone. But Yeshua told me to keep fighting, to not give up and he was going to help me through,”
Bobe, strong Bobe, was such a fighter, she had survived so much, the Holocaust, the loss of her family and so many of her friends. My Bobe was a true super hero.
