Casting Stones
“Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
- John F. Kennedy
It’s sad
To see
It’s come to
This stones
Cast on all sides
As we fight
Amongst ourselves
Like little children
Who don’t know better.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, leave the rest to God.”
― Ronald Reagan
Right against left
Left against right
The name calling
And mudslinging
Occur on all sides.
And somehow we are
Left to wonder
Why children
Look to us in confusion
As we do the very things
We have told them
Not to do.
They say those
In glass houses
Shouldn’t cast stones
And yet a lot
Of stones are being
Cast,
And glass is being
Shattered
In all directions.
