You can choose to no longer live with the disability, you can have it taken from you, but if you do that, you will lose everything you have learned from it. You will change who you are at your core.

Who held such power? I couldn’t even comprehend what I was hearing. It felt wrong, and I wasn’t going to give in to temptation, as hard as it was dealing with everything I had been through in the last 18 months, I could not just erase it all.

If it sounds to good to be true, it is.

As I listened to the words, the wisdom played over and over again in my head.

You’re a fool if you don’t take this offer!

An angry voice shouted, a voice filled with hatred.

Temptation will lead to your downfall, so don’t give in to it.

A sigh escaped my lips as I wondered where the angry voice came from, and why he sounded so angry, or was it a woman.

You suffered so much, don’t you want to be whole again, to erase all the pain?

As I stared down at legs that refused to move how I wanted them to, who was this invisible voice to say that I was less than whole, as if walking differently somehow made me less than whole? Who was going to say otherwise, who had the right?
