The Mysteries Shrouded in Beauty
Donnell Vista is a scenic viewpoint that can be reached from Strawberry, which is located between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Despite its beauty, there is danger lurking as well, reminding us to respect nature.
My Dad and I have been hiking on Donell Vista, and although it has rough terrain, some of these disappearances have been suspicious.
Nita Mayo went missing on August.10.2005 Her last known address was in the 1100 block of Park Street in Hawthorne on the day she left for Sonora, California. A CalTrans worker found Mayo’s 1997 silver Mercury Sable station wagon at Donnell’s Vista, a lookout point outside Sonora, California, later that same day. Investigators found no evidence of foul play in Mayo’s vehicle. Mayo’s car was found full of gas with her purse, wallet, keys, and cell phone still inside.
