Don’t Let it Break You

“Life isn’t always

Easy.” she said

As she sat on the

Floor cleaning

Up spilled Cheerios.

“But you can’t let it

Break you.”

I nodded, I knew

Of pain

Four years before

On a rainy February

Morning

As I opened a paper

To read Father and

Son brutally murdered

In their Hercules Home.

Hercules was a small

Upper middle class town

In the Bay Area

But this wasn’t some

Far off family

They were life

Long friends

And I still cant wrap

My head around

Who would assassinate

A father and his

Twelve year old

Home.

“It’s hard.”

She admitted

“The struggles we face
