Faith-Shaming

I can’t count the times, I’ve heard “Your a Christian, your Faith is only a crutch. Or your a Christian that means you must be a bigot, you must be this or that, and my favorite “Christians are all nothing but hypocrites.”. Don’t they realize that statement in itself is well hypocritical, so the accuser is basically doing what they just accused me of, what they just accused all Christians of.

Now don’t get me wrong, not all judge, not all look at me as if I grew two heads when I tell them, yes I’m a born again, Bible believing Christian, but I do not agree with every Christian in the world, we are all individuals, our common bond our Faith, but that is a very personal thing, and for everyone it is going to show itself differently.

I’ve had some act as if my Faith in Christ was like me believing I could rub Aladdin’s lamp and a genie would pop out, granting wishes. I’m sorry, but that’s not Christ it’s a fairytale, and there is a huge difference, the sacrifice he made on Calvaries Cross is very real, while Aladdin’s lamp is a fairytale.

Faith is not a crutch, it’s a way of life, it is something as real as the air I breathe. Yet time and time again, I see it, the Faith-Shaming as if there can be anything bad that can come out of Faith.

Don’t get me wrong, there are extremes on all sides, Christians who twist the Bible to fit some ideology, that really…
