Five Lessons I’ve Learned

This month, marks my five year anniversary on Medium, granted that first month was more about feeling the waters, and learning my place. Word to the wise though, those waters are forever changing.

But let me tell you some of the things I learned.

1:) Writing to the trends may work for some, but that’s just not me, unless that trend happens to be something I am interested in, then I’ll definitely write about the subject, but if it’s not something I have a passion or at least a passing interest in, I will leave it on the table for someone else.

Another words I am not going to write about something simply because it’s popular, on the opposite end of that I’ll not refuse to write about something because it lacks popularity. I write what is right for me.

2:) Follow for follow does not work unless those you are following actually reads what you are going to write.

You are better off building a genuine audience. One who will read what you are writing.

03:) You are never going to have a hundred percent read ratio. It’s just not going to happen this is true whether you have a hundred followers or a hundred thousand.
