Forgiven
Hannah’s Story Continues
It was during my hospital stay that I had time to reflect on my salvation. Since I had been saved years before, I had not faced that many roadblocks. But after the accident, I found myself reflecting more on what Christ did for me, and I was able to thank God for his forgiveness.
I undestood salvation and forgiveness as a born again believer for over half of my life, and as a Sunday School teacher for the past few years. I learned the impact even more after the accident. During the weeks in the hospital, I knew I could not have survived without Jesus’ help!
It was comforting to know that I wasn’t alone in the hospital, even though I struggled there. I did not have to fight this battle alone. I was reminded every day of God’s grace, all he had given me, and I was humbled every day to see others who were far worse off than I was. Seeing people struggle to breathe was heartbreaking.
When I felt like lashing out at those around me for simply trying to help, forgiveness came into my thoughts. I was fortunate to have fleeting thoughts, as prayer always calmed my nerves.
As a result of what has happened, I am even more eager to share the gift of forgiveness, I want to shout from the rooftops what Jesus has done for us.
Being forgiven enabled me to imagine a day without beng paralyzed!
