  • I wrote this just months after Highschool graduation, I has a life changing and liberating year my Senior Year, I was able to forge new friendships, find my Faith, and find the courage to tell my Dad I was no longer going to be a Mormon, I still have friends and loved ones who are LDS, so this is nor an attack on them, but I've seen the darker side of the LDS religion and finding my voice, as well as finding my Faith was part of that journey, and G-d led an incredible group of friends into my life who helped me to break out of my bubble, and that year I learned to let go of burdens I spent far to much time carrying around. As I sat down one day, I knew I needed to give thanks for all they had done, I wrote these years!

*The same year I wrote this poem, a dear friend gave me a journal, in which she had written a note, with this message, "Never stop writing, you were blessed with a special gift, remember to use it to his glory, and never let anyone make you sell yourself short." The words arent exact unfortunately the beautiful journal was lost to time, as was my first journal, written in the awkward hands of an eight year old dyslexic girl, who even then felt discomfort in the LDS faith, and honestly in retrospect I was reading into the things that made me feel…
