We Can’t Hide from Jesus

Tuesday before Bible Study I was playing a game of hide and seek with our Pastor and his wife’s three year old son. He was hiding in places that were obvious as children that age are prone to do, and I would pretend not to see him, which made him laugh. But the little game got me to thinking, how many times do we try to hide from God in the most obvious of ways?

Sometimes we seemingly seem to master the game of hide and seek with God, but we aren’t as masterful at hide and seek, but even if we pretend he doesn’t God sees us.

Ever since the days of Adam, man has been hiding from God and saying, ‘God is hard to find. — Fulton J. Sheen

Playing Hide and Seek with God is nothing new, it’s a game we have been playing since we were in Eden, hiding from God, and thinking we have mastered it, the way we let a little child think we can’t find them when they are hiding in plain sight. We are like that in Faith though, thinking we are hiding our sins, our nakedness from. God.

You are with Another, and he is unique. God is the only person from whom you can hide nothing. — Author: Timothy J. Keller
