I Don’t Need Your Pity
I don’t need pity
It doesn’t fix
What’s broken
And in many ways
It serves to undermine
The words I say.
Don’t try to placate
Me with I’m sorry’s
While looking at me
As if you are staring
In the face of a stranger.
Don’t think
Of all that changesd
In an instant,
In a twist of fate.
Don’t pity me
Being blinded by
What’s broken
Instead of seeing
Everything
That has remained
The same.
Take a look
At me
Not with eyes
Of pity
But let them
Speak of hope
Of dreams.
