I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye

I don’t want

To say goodbye

So I won’t

Because goodbye

Is so final

It’s like a promise

Broken ,

It’s the words

We left unspoken.

I don’t want

To say goodbye

Because that’s a closing

Not the opening

And though your gone

I’ll see you again

Perhaps where the

Angels trod.

I don’t want

To say goodbye

So I’m not

I’ll bid you

Farewell for

Now

Until it’s time

For that happy

Heavenly reunion.

I don’t want to bid

You goodbye

It sounds so final

Like the ending

Etched in permanent

Marker

So I’ll say

Ciao for now

Both hello

And goodbye

It seems

Appropriate

Somehow
