I had to say

Goodbye

To your broken lies

As you told me

I was never family anyway

I knew it wasn’t you

But something broken

Inside of you.

As I looked back

At a lifetime memories

Knowing Once upon a time

Was only a faded memory

Of what once was.

You spewed out

Words of hate

And had others

Do the same

Trying to fill them

With half baked lies.

I let it slide

Until I could no more

When you began

Lashing

Out

At everyone

That only offered

A kind word

A gentle gesture

And I knew

I couldn’t let

You break me

Into a million
