I Know Your Story, But I Don’t
I Know Your Story, But I Don’t
I know your story
But I don’t
Words that are
Left unspoken
Secrets to painful
To share
Each of us
Have the need
To hide the bruises
Life throws at us.
I often hear
Shouting in silence
And pain in angry eyes
Somethings are beyond words
And pain
Is often spoken
In silence.
I see smiles
Often that hide
Something deeper
And tears that do
Not come,
Life tells us
You need to be strong
While God says
Rest in me
We to easily
Buy into this
Idea
If you aren’t always
Strong you are weak.
I know your story
But I don’t
There’s a silence
Between what’s spoken
And a pain
That can’t be verbalized.
