I learned a lot about Roman history that I didn't previously know!

At least, Severus was personally a capable ruler, his sons succeeding him were a lot less so. His older son Caracalla murdered his younger brother Geta before he was murdered by his soldiers. Dying at the hands of their own men was a fate shared by the other two members of the Severan dynasty who went on to succeed him.
