I’ll Stumble, I’ll Fall, I’ll Get Up Again: Chapter Thirty Seven

Chapter Thirty Seven:

“I hope the Turkey is done soon, smelling all this good food and having to wait is torture.” Samantha said.

I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Well I’m not trying to torture you, but make sure that everything turns out great.” I said, handing Samantha a plate with veggies and deviled eggs sliced in half to tide Samantha over. I handed Mom, Krista and Aunt Cassandra a plate of hors d’ouveres. I was grateful that I had decided to make some savories, to tide my family over until the Thanksgiving meal as finished.

“Do you need any help?” Krista asked.

I nodded. “Could you get a mixing bowl down for me, I need to start the dressing.

Krista nodded, and reached it with ease. I was grateful for her ability to do just that.

“I should have thought about getting the bowl down for you early.”

“Krista, I don’t expect you to read my mind.” I said, giggling.

Krista simply nodded, and sat down at the kitchen table. “Are you okay Krista?”

“I was just thinking how close we were to not being able to celebrate Thanksgiving or any holidays together really, we came so close to loosing you.”
