I’ll Stumble, I’ll Fall, I’ll Get Up Again: Chapter Nineteen

Chapter. Nineteen:

Before long I was ushered out to the car, I had both crutches and a wheelchair to use at home to get around with. I hadn’t fully mastered the crutches, but I was doing better.

I still found myself dealing with phantom pains, pains in a leg that no longer existed.

Right now though, it was a time to celebrate. Anna was so excited she half skipped to the car.

Alyssa’s coming home, Alyssa’s coming home. Anna sang, having a few people turn their attention to us. Some of them long enough smiling, some simply stared.

I had a feeling the stares were going to become to commonplace I feared. I could handle it, I had no choice but to handle it, but I could not handle it when anyone stared taunting my little sister, that made me mad.

I looked at the time on my computer, realizing that I had to stop writing and get ready for my Physical Therapy session. I did not want to be late, as difficult as the sessions could be, I realized how important these sessions were.

“Mom says we need to leave, so you’re not late for your session.” Krista called out.

“I’m ready.” I said. “I’m headed to the car now.”
