I’ll Stumble, I’ll Fall, I’ll Get Up Again: Chapter Twenty
Chapter Twenty:
“Alyssa you’re having a bad dream wake up. “ Anna cried out, the panic in her voice.
I woke up, rubbing my eyes. “I didn’t mean to scare you.” I said. The dream, nightmare really was coming back to me.
The truck loosing its breaks, the sound of metal crunching, cries of pain and confusion.
“You had a bad dream.” Anna said with authority.
I nodded, but did not want to go into the details of the dream.
“A dream about the accident.”
I should have known better than to think I could hide anyone from Anna. My little sister was smarter than most people gave her credit for. Far to many people saw her and only saw a label, Down Syndrome. But that was not the definition of Anna and I knew that. Sadly not everyone did.
I nodded, knowing better than to try and argue with my sister, and knowing better than to try and hide anything for her.
The phone rang, bringing me back to the current.
“Sienna, it’s Katarina,.” She said softly.
“Yes it’s Sienna.” I assured her.
“First of all, how are you doing?” She asked.
