In An Instant: Part Five

It’s not easy none of this is, you know that. You never expected it to be, but there were things you didn’t think about, like waking up and forgetting for a moment that you’re paralyzed, that very little of your body functions the way it should.

You’ve always been strong, in Faith and in who you are, but something like this is enough to break even the strongest of people. You question what you could have done to stop the shooting that day, but the failure was not yours, you should know that.

You read your Bible often, that hasn’t changed, a lighter weight volume, whose pages you struggle to turn, but now you have an app on your IPad as well. Time in the word is important to you, that hasn’t changed, showing how strong she is. You are strong, but you don’t always realize that.

At night you spend time and prayer, your prayers echoing with your tears, Chloe is always there for you, the niece that reminds you of how badly you want a child of your own. Something that unfortunately isn’t likely to happen. You would make a good Mother though, there’s no doubt about that.

You try hard, hard to hide your tears, hard to be strong, and you are there’s no doubt about that, but this is hard. You just had no idea how hard it was going to be. You’ve never been one to ask for help, but now there are things you can’t do, without it. It’s not…
