In An Instant Part Eight
Chapter Four:
You are strong, you don’t see it, but you are. But you are angry and hurting, honestly I don’t blame you, this should have never happened, so move took their anger out on you, destroying themselves and very nearly destroying you in the process. You deserve to be protected, but I couldn’t protect you, not that day. You’re my little sister, I was able to protect you when we we kids, but I couldn’t protect you from a kid with a gun.
You bet I am angry, angry at the whole situation, angry that a kid can walk into a classroom with a gun, and destroy lives along the way.
You were one of the lucky ones they say, because you survived, but you paid a high cost don’t they see that?
And what about the kids who had your blood on them the kids you protected but could not shield from the sight of their teacher nearly dying in front of them. And what about my daughter nearly loosing her Aunt or me nearly loosing my sister.
But you are the one who lost so much more, you very nearly lost your life. You don’t like to show your pain, but it’s evident, and you can’t keep bottling it up, because you will explode. You need to know it’s okay to admit you are hurting that this is hard. But you are the one hurting, we never expected you to hold it all in, that’s the last thing we wanted. You don’t need to be…
