It Makes it Worth It

I’ve written some on the Neal and Brendan Abernathy Case, and have always worried that I wasn’t doing it tactfully enough or that in some way I was doing something to hurt her, but today at my Aunt’s birthday, she was the unexpected but most welcome guest, and we actually had a great conversation, where she actually thanked me for what I had written, for bringing light to the case, and doing so tactfully. We talked about Paul Holes book Unmasked, and the way it hurt her. February of 2023 will be twenty six years since the murders and her pain is still palpable. She’s married to Kent now, but of course the loss of her husband and son will impact her.

The fact that I was able to talk to Susan, to be thanked for the effort I hace put into the writing on the cases, to be told that what I was doing was helping and not hurting, was like a nudge from God, that what I am doing in regards to this case that hits way to close to home.
