I’ve Worn Beauty, I’ve Worn Pain

I’ve worn beauty

And I’ve worn pain.

I’ve learned to capture

Memories

Because sometimes

People fade.

I’ve stood up

And stood tall

Fought for

A little girl

Who deserved

It All

Auntie and so

Much more,

My niece

Who feels

More like a

Daughter.

I’ve learned

So much from watching

Her grow

And now she’s

A Mother.
