Hatred Spewed Out From Keyboard Warriors

I was scrolling hrough social media, as I ocassionally do, when a comment on a post, made me cringe. I know nothing unusal there, but the comment made to a parent with a child with a disability had me fumimg. The commenter called the child maybe 9 or ten years old, some deragatory names, and then proceeded to say they needed to be instutalized.

I soon found myself fuming, who has the right to tell a child they do not have a place in society, just because they are disabled? Who dictates what happens to a child that is not theirs?

Keyboard warrior, sometimes keyboard cowboy, is a term that refers to a person who makes abusive or aggressive posts on the internet, typically one who conceals their true identity.

Keyboard Warriors like the one I encountered today use the annoymnity of the internet, to post abusive comments like the one I encountered today. They think that their words don’t hurt, because they aren’t saying them to someone’s face, or they simply don’t care. But there are consequences to these kind of comments, and for some they can lead to suicide.

Where there are no direct statistics related to Keyboard bullies, and suicides, there is a correlation, when keyboard warriors constantly tell…
