Like Grief In the Water

The day before this picture was taken in 2017, we had just lost our Poodle Abby the Adorable, her best friend, just a couple of weeks prior a friend had lost her son and a month after this was taken we’d learn of the death of another friend…

Like grief

In the water

The silent tears

Fall like raindrops.

Like the cries

Of a broken hearted girl

The wind cries out

Echoing it’s own

Song of grief.

Like the footsteps

Of a little girl

Searching for something

She doesn’t understand

Footsteps echo

Days of the past.

Like the laughter

Of a girl

Learning to laugh

Through the tears

So the sound of laughter

Echoes.
