Anna-leis hadnā€™t believe in the kind of love she and Clarence had, until she met him, and fell in love. Until the day he proposed to her after she was told she was a double amputee, at the hands of a drunk driver, he had placed his hands on her shoulder and promised to love her for eternity, wanting to make something good come out of that day. And she had said yes. It was one of the best decisions she had made aside from turning to Christ and adopting their girls.

Her life was happy now, despite all she had been through. Anna-leis struggled from time to time, the reality of what had happened waking up to discover she was a double amputee was hard, learning to walk with legs that were man and machine made instead of God made, harder still, but that didnā€™t mean she wasnā€™t happy, she saw the good in her life, whenever Clarence wrapped her in his arms, whenever she looked in Sasha and Sonyaā€™s eyes and saw love, she knew life could both be hard and beautiful.

Watching their daughters grow, seeing a love grow deeper and deeper everyday was a privilege. She couldnā€™t help but see the beauty even in the midst of the pain, and when she struggled with that Clarence would point out theā€¦
