Like Letters Written in the Sand…Part Thirty Two (Revised)
He enjoyed hearing Anna-leis’s laughter as she played with their daughters and watched comedies with them. She was laughing more now, and the inward healing had begun. There were tough times, and she struggled, but Anna-leis had overcome so much, and she had found what brought her joy, and they brought their children joy as well. Two beautiful words and a strong reality: their children.
They were no longer scared of Anna-leis’ prosthetics, the fact that their new mother couldn’t walk very fast and had to use a wheelchair, or crawling around on the floor playing games with them, wasn’t unusual to them, it was fun. In time, they learned that the homes the girls had been in before were nothing more than name only. She was determined to give them the home they never had. When Anna-leis was sad, the girls would climb into her laughter when she read to them, sang to them, and laughed at their silly antics. Their God-given miracles were Sasha and Sonya.
While Clarence worked on a story for the news, the girls kept Anna-leis entertained. However, if Clarence was reporting a story, they would stop what they were doing, cuddle on the sofa, and watch their Daddy on the TV, while Anna-leis had a girl on each side.
