The Lord has blessed us beyond measure, Clarence.” Anna-leis smiled at Clarence as they watched their girls play. Clarence had the afternoon free, so they enjoyed a picnic in the field behind their home.

“Yes we are.” Clarence agreed, and the fact that Anna-leis was able to see her blessings despite what she had endured was a testament to her character, as were the girls running through the grass, a testament to the answer to prayers she had asked for. Clarence was certain that God’s grace was real, the very fact that his wife sat with him attested to this.

His favorite pastime was watching his wife, watching their daughters, and listening to his wife laugh at their antics. There were moments when he watched his wife struggle with things that came so easily to him, but she never dwelled on it for too long, and she lived life to its fullest. Naturally, there were good days and bad days, but that was true for everyone, including him.

However, today was a good day, a great day in fact, because they spent time together as a family enjoying a picnic lunch, but more importantly, they were enjoying time together.
