Like Letters Written in the Sand, Part Twenty Nine
“I tried to get them, but I couldn’t keep up. I couldn’t stop them from taking the girls!” Anna-leis cried out, Clarence could hear the panic in her voice and gently nudged her awake.
“Sweetheart, the girls are okay, we’re all okay.” Clarence assured her. “It was a nightmare sweetheart, the girls are sleeping.”
The tears were flowing, Anna-leis had felt so helpless, the nightmare so real.
“It’s okay Anna-leis.” Clarence assured her again, pulling her closer to him, in order to comfort her. He hated seeing Anna-leis hurting the way she was. The nightmare had really shook her.
“Clarence, it seemed so real, I felt so helpless. What if I can’t protect them if something should happen.”
“Sweetheart, all parents worry about that, but sweetheart, we do our best.”
“I couldn’t run to save them, to protect them Clarence, that scared me, it broke my heart. I went from being a cop, to not being able to protect my dreams.”
“Anna-leis it was a nightmare, the girls are safe, and you never have to question whether or not you are a good Mother, beca you show that you are everyday, if an questioned whether or not you were a good Mother, we wouldn’t have Sasha and Sonya.”
