Like Letters Written in the Sand…Part Twenty-One:
“They want another interview Anna-leis, that’s a positive sign, if they thought we would make terrible parents, I doubt they’d schedule another interview if they didn’t think we had potential.” Clarence said gently.
“I want to believe you are right, but I’m afraid too, afraid of them seeing only what I struggle with, not what I can offer.”
“Anna-leis, not being able to walk without a little help, being an amputee does not make you a bad parent, in fact there are plenty of people without so called physica limitations, that make horrible parents, just as there are plenty of disabled people who make amazing parents, and I know you’re going to make an amazing Mom.”
Clarence always had a way of easing Anna-leis worries and pains, and she was grateful for that. She knew how blessed she was to have someone who loved her unconditionally. Unconditional love was something Anna-leis had been convinced she didn’t deserve until Clarence came along and showed her otherwise. She was slowly learning it hadn’t been her with the problem, it was her, Clarence had showed her what it was like to be loved, and what it was like to have hope, the way he was showing her hope now.
Maybe this will really happen, maybe we will get to adopt the little girl we dream about, maybe the Lord will give us a chance to…
