Like Letters Written in the Sand Part Twenty-One (Revised)
“They want to schedule another interview Anna-leis, that is a positive sign. If they did not believe we had potential, they would not schedule another interview.” Clarence explained gently.
“I want to believe you are correct, but I am also afraid. I am afraid they will see only my weaknesses, not what I can offer.”
“Anna-leis, being an amputee and unable to walk without a little help does not make you a bad parent. In fact, many people without physical limitations make terrible parents, just as many disabled people make amazing parents, and I am confident you will make an amazing mom as well.”
Clarence had a way of easing Anna-leis’ worries and pains, and she was grateful for his assistance. The fact that someone loved her unconditionally made her realize how blessed she was. Anna-leis had been convinced that she did not deserve unconditional love until Clarence came along and showed her otherwise. Slowly, she began to realize it was not her problem, it had been Clarence. Clarence had shown her what it was like to be loved, and what it was like to have hope, the way he was showing her hope now.
Maybe we will be able to adopt the little girl we long for, maybe the Lord will grant us the opportunity to become parents.
