Anna-leis was improving, her steps less faltered, though she was not where she wanted to be, but she could go for short walks with their girls, if she could hold on to Clarence’s hand, it had taken her a long time to get to this point, but it was worth it, she would never again take something as simple as a step for granted, or waking up and stepping on the cool wooden flooring, or dangling her feet in the water, she had lost those things, but she was alive, and now the Mother to beautiful twins, and she was the wife of a man who had for years shown her unconditional love, but who had really stepped up after that drunk driver had changed her life. At one time she thought she hated this person now she just felt sorry for them. They were damaged in a way that was far worse than amputated limbs!

Clarence was proud of his wife too, proud of all she had overcome, the way she had adapted. When she was first released from the hospital all she wanted to do was hide away, but now they lived a full, life, and she was ready to take on new challenges. There were times she was was selfconcious, and times others gave her strange looks, but she was showing their daughters, what strength truly looked like, she was showing them that she refused to be a victim to the circumstances now, or of her childhood.
