Love Against the Tides
Be Devoted to One Another in Love
Chapter Nine:
When the vows were read, and the rings placed on their fingers, when the vows were read and the promises made it became real. She had someone who loved her, who was willing to build a life with her despite her injuries. Kevin was everything her Father hadn’t been, kind, gentle and a man of true Faith.
Kelsea was grateful that Kevin had agreed to let them get married just the two of them. He had family but she had none to speak of. Her parents were alive but they wanted nothing to do with her and honestly she didn’t want anything to do with them.
Someday when she was ready, they would have a more formal wedding. Church, his family and all it was the least she could do for him. After all he had done for her it was something she wanted to do for him. Lord willing.
She stared at the ring on her finger now. Fingers that did not cooperate on their own, but Kelsea wanted to wear that ring, and Kevin gentle placed it on her finger.
She was happy, but she grieved too. Grieved over the abilities she had lost, and grieved over the family she had never really had. Kelsea knew they had never really loved her, it was obvious in the way they treated her.
