Love Against The Tides
A Different Kind Of Healing
2 Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.
Psalm 6:2 N.I.V
Chapter Nineteen:
Kelsea would have given up long ago if Kevin hadn’t been by her side, cheering her on through every physical therapy session, every occupational therapy session. Kevin celebrated even the smallest victories, and held her tightly through every frustration , every bad memory.
She would not have been able to get through this without Kevin. Everyone thought she was so strong, but this has tested her to the limit.
“I’m not as strong, or as cold, as everyone thinks.”
“I know Kelsea, they don’t know you, and they don’t matter.”
“But some act as if what happened was my fault, as if being paralyzed were punishment for my coldness.”
“Kelsea, it was an accident, several others were hurt; it wasn’t punishment.”
Kelsea could only nod, knowing Kevin was right. It was hard though, when others were so quick to judge you.
“I can promise you two things, Kelsea, this hasn’t changed my love for you, and I love you more than ever before. “Opening up more, admitting you don’t have it all figured out isn’t weakness, it’s strength.”
