Love Against the Tides
Love Bears All Things
Chapter Three:
Kevin was so gentle with her, so patient, so full of love. He wanted Kelsea to know that he loved her, but he was not going to rush her, nor would he make her fear uncomfortable. Kelsea’s scars ran deep, and he didn’t want to add to them. He wanted to show her that love true love, wasn’t about fear, nor was it about getting what you wanted the moment you’re heart desires. God often had greater plans, plans that may not be understood in the moment.
God knew what Kevin needed, before he did. He had found that out the day he met Kelsea. He had not been actively been looking to fall in love, but the moment he saw her, rough exterior and all, he knew.
She hadn’t made it easy, especially not at first, a chance encounter at work, and he knew. But she was cold, and angry, or so everybody warned him. But they hadn’t taken the time to get to know him, the way he had.
Kelsea was far from all the negative things others said for her, nor was she as tough as she would have everyone believe. She was strong yes, but she had also been broken, broken by a childhood that had nearly shattered her spirit. He understood her anger, the walls in a way few did, now that he understood why she had put up those walls.
