Chapter Seventen:

There was more he wanted to give her than roses and love poems. His desire was to give her everything that she had lost back to her, waking up in his bed with her by his side was a blessing, but he saw her pain, she hated how dependent she had become on him. It was understood that she needed her independence, and things were beginning to improve, but the accident had taken so much from her. If he could, he would carry her pain for her. Although he would have liked to be able to help her carry that burden on her own, Kevin knew he was not able to do so. However, he could assist her and provide her with the support that she needed in the process.

In reality, Kelsea grew weary of relying on Kevin for everything, and in truth, at times she felt like a burden. As much as he loved her, he reminded her of that often, and especially on days such as these, she needed that reminder.

Kevin, I don’t deserve you.” sighed Kelsea.

“As far as I am concerned, I am the one who is unworthy of you.” Kevin stated. You may not see it that way, but that’s because you’ve been forced to view life in a way no one should and in a manner that makes you question your own value.”

She did struggle with who she was, both before and after the accident. Kelsea was aware of this…
