Nonna’s hands
Carried love spoken
And silent
Prepared Pasta Fagioli
On cold winter days
And cooled fever brows
With cool wash clothes
And lots of prayer.
Nonna’s hands
Held many
Books
Over the years
And held
Tiny hands
As she led
The way.
Nonna’s hand
Held many books
Wrote many letters
Created warm meals
On chilly days.
