On Desert Sand: Chapter Four:

Chapter Four:

“Have they left yet?” I asked Kristina.

“Yes, they have. They’ll be here late this evening.” Kristina said. “We’ll talk to them together.”

“Thank you.” I said softly.

“I want to get out of this bed, and into a wheelchair before they get here.”

“I’m sure your physical therapist will help you with that.”

I nodded. I knew they likely would if they felt the time was right, but would thru think it was right?

“Mom and Dad, will be happy to see you sitting down, lying down, it doesn’t matter. There going to be happy to see you, to hug you.”

“I wish I could hug them back.” I sighed. “It hurts me to know that I can’t give them a hug, give you a hug.”

“You’ll get stronger Adriana.” Kristina said. ‘You will be able to give us all hugs soon.”

“What if this is the best as it gets? What if I don’t gain any use of my arms?”

“We will still give you hugs, assure you everything is going to be okay.”

“This isn’t okay Kristina, this is far from okay.”

“I know Adriana, I’m sorry.”

“Kristina you have done nothing wrong, I should be the one apologizing, I’m snapping at you.”
