One Long Night
The stars shone bright
And shadows played
Along with the sounds
In the night.
One long night
A Mother prayed
A lost child
Needed to find
Their way.
One long night
A lover grieved
Over the memories
Of what was
The dreams of
What were to be
But sometimes life
Gets messy
And pain comes
Into play.
One long night
A dreamer dreamed
Of all that could be.
