No miracle
ever happens.
We must
Walk this entire way
Alone.
All of us
Have seen
Ourselves walking alone
In the rain.
In this path:
There was fear.
There was prayer.
There were long alleys.
There were unfinished poems.
There were bushes of red roses
That, with one glance from us,
Would wither.
The walls along the path
Were silent and filled with enchantment.
